Ice-filled inlet about 18 mi long, with two branches, indenting the E end of Thurston Island between Lofgren and Tierney Peninsulas. Discovered in helicopter flights from USS Bellingshausen Sea Expedition in February 1960. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant Commander Joseph R. Morgan, USN, hydrographic and oceanographic officer of U.S. Navy (USN) Task Force 43 during this expedition.
