Description

A line of cliffs, 6 mi long, breached near the center by Rhodes Icefall. The cliffs border the N side of Garfield Glacier in the W part of McDonald Heights, Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Irene C. Peden, ionospheric physicist who made investigations on electrical measurements of the ice sheet near Byrd Station, 1970-71.
