Description (see definition): Prominent, relatively snow-free mountain rising to 3,720 m between the heads of Murray Glacier and Burnette Glacier in the Admiralty Mountains. Discovered on Jan. 15, 1841 by Captain James Ross, Royal Navy (RN), who named this feature for Lieutenant Col. Edward Sabine of the Royal Artillery, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society, one of the most active supporters of the expedition.
