Description (see definition): A prominent high peak (4790 m) on the summit plateau of Vinson Massif, 1.3 mi SW of Mount Vinson. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (2006) after Samuel Silverstein, member of the 1966-67 American Antarctic Mountaineering Expedition that made the first ascent of Vinson Massif and other high mountains in the Sentinel Range.
