Description

A bay, 5 mi long and 2 mi wide, which indents eastern Anvers Island between Spallanzani Point and Mitchell Point. The bay was roughly surveyed by the Admiralty Hydrographic Unit, 1951-52. Named by UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) for Leonard C. Hill of the Discovery Investigations, who served as an officer on Royal Research Ship (RRS) William Scoresby in Jan.-Feb. 1931, and on every Antarctic commission of Royal Research Ship (RRS) Discovery II between 1931-39.
