Description

An ice-covered island, about 9 mi long and 5 mi wide, lying within Abbot Ice Shelf, about 14 mi SE of Dustin Island. The feature was observed and roughly positioned as an "ice rise" by parties from the USS Glacier in February 1961. Remapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from U.S. Navy (USN) air photos, 1966. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Theodore L. Johnson, electrical engineer at Byrd Station, 1964-65.
