High, mainly snow-covered bluffs rising S of Holt Glacier in the E part of Bear Peninsula, Walgreen Coast, Marie Byrd Land. First mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from air photos obtained by U.S. Navy (USN) OpHjp in January 1947. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Lieutenant Commander S.W. Jones, USN, who piloted aircraft for magnetometry studies during Operation Deep Freeze 1966 and 1967.
