The Saami flag was accepted in The Saami 13 Conferance in �re (Sweden) 15-Aug-86, 
made by Astrid B�hl. 

The figure is based on one poem written by Anders Fjellnerin (1795-1876) "P�iven p�rneh" (The Sons of Sun). Fjellner writes about the Saami people as the sons and daughters of the sun. The colors of the Saami flag
has the same colors You can find in the Saami dress: yellow, red, green and blue.
