Rock lying 1 mi SSE of Brode Island and 2 mi S of Cape Disappointment, the S extremity of South Georgia. It is first (southernmost) in a line of three insular features S of Cape Disappointment discovered in 1775 by Captain James Cook. So named because of its position by DI personnel who charted South Georgia in the period 1926-30.
