Description

A high mountainous ridge, 16 mi long, in the Victory Mountains of Victoria Land. The ridge is bounded by the Gruendler, Trainer, Trafalgar and Rudolph Glaciers. Mapped in part by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE), 1957-58. Mapped in detail by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for William D. McElroy, Director of the National Science Foundation, 1969-72.
