A high (2,290 m) ice-covered tableland about 10 mi long, standing 15 mi NW of Daniels Range in the Usarp Mountains. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Martin A. Pomerantz, Director of the Barthol Research Foundation and Chairman of the U.S. Committee for the International Year of the Quiet Sun, who carried on cosmic ray studies in the McMurdo Sound area, 1959-60 and 1960-61.
