Description

A prominent isolated ice feature on Law Plateau, about 36 miles east of the southern end of the Mawson Escarpment. Photographed by ANARE in 1960. A fuel depot was established nearby by the ANARE Prince Charles Mountains survey party in 1972. Named by the Australian Antarctic Names and Medal Committee after Ian F. Allison, glaciologist at Mawson Station in 1969 and a member of the Prince Charles Mountains surveys in 1972 and 1974.
