An ice-filled inlet between Pesce Peninsula and Harris Peninsula, on the N side of Beethoven Peninsula, Alexander Island. Observed from the air and first roughly mapped by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE), 1947-48. Remapped from the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE) air photos by Searle of the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) in 1960. Named by UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) after Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901), Italian opera composer.
