Inlet, 30 mi long in a NE-SW direction and 3 to 5 mi wide, lying between the E sides of Pourquoi Pas and Blaiklock Islands and the W coast of Graham Land. Discovered by the French Antarctic Expedition (FrAE), 1908-10, under Charcot, and named by him for Col. Joseph E. Bourgeois, Dir. of the Geographic Service of the French Army. The outline of this inlet was more accurately delineated in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under Rymill.
