Description (see definition): A NE trending linear serrated cliff rising to about 70 m above sea level on the SE shore of Griffin Cove, Livingston Island. The cliff is one of several features given the name of “fabulous beasts” in the Williams Point area. Named by UK-APC (1998) after the Basilisk, king of the serpents. A gigantic monster with the body of a cock, iron claws, and beak, a triple snake’s tail and a fatal stare. Also the name of a present day lizard which the feature could crudely resemble.
