A rugged Y-shaped massif which rises to 1860 m on the S side of Byrd Glacier. It stands between Brecher Glacier and Twombley Glacier, two southern tributaries to Byrd Glacier. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Captain (later Rear Admiral) Stevan Mandarich (1911-2001), U.S. Navy (USN), Chief of Staff to Rear Admiral R.E. Byrd on Operation Deep Freeze 1, 1955-56.
