Description (see definition): Semi-circular bay 2.5 mi wide, lying W of Tickell Head along the N coast of Coronation Island, in the South Orkney Islands. Discovered in 1821 in the course of the joint cruise by Captain Nathaniel Palmer, American sealer, and Captain George Powell, British sealer. Surveyed by the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) in 1956-58 and named by the UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) for John F.D. Bridger, who participated in the survey of Coronation and Signy Islands.
