Description (see definition): The southernmost peak of the Rockefeller Mountains, on Edward VII Peninsula in Marie Byrd Land. Discovered on Jan. 27, 1929, by members of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (ByrdAE) on an exploratory flight over this area. Named for Raymond Butler, member of the U.S. Antarctic Service (USAS) party which occupied the Rockefeller Mountains seismic station during November and December 1940.
