Byrd, USN, (1888-1957) noted American explorer and leader of five expeditions to Antarctica, 1928-57. Remapped from air photos taken by U.S. Navy (USN) OpHjp in 1947 by Searle of the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) in 1960.
