Nunatak, 1,640 m, lying 2 mi SW of Sandseten Mountain on the W side of Westliche Petermann Range, Wohlthat Mountains. Discovered and plotted from air photos by German Antarctic Expedition (GerAE), 1938-39. Mapped from air photos and surveys by Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (NorAE), 1956-60; remapped by Soviet Antarctic Expedition (SovAE), 1960-61, and named in commemoration of the Soviet scientists' achievements in the study of space.
