Island 4.5 mi long and 2 mi wide, surmounted by a snow-covered pyramidal peak, 515 m, lying between the S portions of Anvers Island and Wiencke Island in the Palmer Archipelago. First seen by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (BelgAE), 1897-99, under Gerlache. Resighted and charted by the French Antarctic Expedition (FrAE), 1903-05, under Charcot, who named it for Paul Doumer, President of the Chamber of Deputies and later President of France.
