Peak 3 mi W of Buls Bay, standing at the S side of Hippocrates Glacier in the S part of Brabant Island, in the Palmer Archipelago. First mapped by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (BelgAE) under Gerlache, 1897-99. Photographed by Hunting Aersurveys Ltd. in 1956-57, and mapped from these photos in 1959. Named by the UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) for Galen (138-201), the most eminent Roman doctor of his time, author of numerous works on medicine, surgery and anatomy.
