Description (see definition): Snow-covered mountain, c. 800 m, with a rock-exposed W side, overlooking the SE part of Brahms Inlet on Beethoven Peninsula in the SW part of Alexander Island. A number of mountains in this vicinity first appear on maps by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE), 1947-48. This mountain, apparently one of these, was mapped from Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE) air photos by Searle of the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) in 1960; remapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), 1988. Named by UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) after Edvard Grieg (1843-1907), Norwegian composer.
