A high, mostly ice-covered ridge at the N side of Holt Glacier on Bear Peninsula, Walgreen Coast, in Marie Byrd Land. First mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from air photos obtained by U.S. Navy (USN) OpHjp in January 1947. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Captain E.W. Grimes, a member of the U.S. Army Aviation Detachment that provided Antarctic support during U.S. Navy (USN) Operation Deep Freeze (OpDFrz) 1966.
