The largest of the Hemmestad Nunataks, in the Drygalski Mountains of Queen Maud Land. Plotted from air photos by the German Antarctic Expedition (GerAE) (1938-39). Mapped from surveys and air photos by Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (NorAE) (1956-60) and named for Arne Hemmestad, mechanic with Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (NorAE) (1956-57).
