Description

A steep icefall about 3 mi long, originating on the S side of Detroit Plateau, Graham Land, about 8 mi NW of Cape Worsley. Mapped from surveys by Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) (1960-61). Named by UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) after the Arrol-Johnston car, which was adapted for use by Shackleton's Antarctic expedition (1907-09) and was the first mechanical transport used in Antarctica.
