Description

A small group of rocky islands lying 3 mi E of Ivanoff Head at the head of Vincennes Bay. The islands mark the division between Knox Coast and Budd Coast. First mapped from air photos taken by U.S. Navy (USN) Operation Highjump (1946-47). Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Ernest B. Hatch, tractor driver with U.S. Navy (USN) Operation Windmill (1947-48), who assisted in transporting shore parties that established astronomical control stations from Wilhelm II Coast to Budd Coast.
