A broad glacier flowing to Walgreen Coast, to the E of Mount Murphy, in Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-66. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Major John W. Haynes, U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), aircraft pilot on Operation Deep Freeze 1967 and 1968, who made a photographic flight over this glacier on Jan. 1, 1967.
