Description (see definition): A large glacier in the Anare Mountains that flows E along the S side of Tapsell Foreland into Smith Inlet, northern Victoria Land. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Donald C. Barnett, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic engineer, a member of U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Topo East and West, 1962-63, in which the expedition extended geodetic control from the area of Cape Hallett to the Wison Hills (Topo West) and from the foot of Beardmore Glacier through the Horlick Mountains (Topo East).
